New moms unite at the FREE Stokvel Mom & Child Forum event on 24 April 2021 – brought to you by Nestlé CERELAC, Nestlé NESTUM and Nestlé NIDO!

This exciting virtual event is for all moms, grans, aunties and guardians of little ones who want to learn about the health and nutritional needs of newborns and toddlers alike. We will be engaging in a variety of topics, including what to feed your child to encourage optimal development – from feeding solid foods to your baby, healthy eating and how to win during mealtime – for babies and toddlers! If you have children aged between six months and five years, this conversation is especially tailored for you.

The stokvels are all about bringing together like-minded people to give us an opportunity to get to know our wonderful readers – and share some helpful insights too.

Due to Covid-19, we’re being safe and keeping the Stokvel Mom & Child Forum an online event, but you can still look forward to being inspired, motivated and, of course, WINNING some epic prizes on the day. DRUM and the Nestlé INFANT NUTRITION team have your back!

Especially now, when it’s been even more daunting to be a mom and take care of a little one. And did we mention it’s a free event?

So, who’s our guest of honour and what can you look forward to?

1.1. Important Notice for all in-scope products from 0-36 months (IF, FUF, GUM, all complementary foods)

IMPORTANT NOTICE. We believe that breastfeeding is the ideal nutritional start for babies as breast milk provides a balanced diet and protection against illness for a baby. We fully support the World Health Organization’s recommendation of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life followed by the introduction of adequate nutritious complementary foods along with sustained breastfeeding up to two years of age. We also recognise that breastfeeding is not always an option for parents. We recommend healthcare professionals to inform parents about the advantages of breastfeeding. If parents consider not to breastfeed, healthcare professionals should inform parents that such a decision can be difficult to reverse and that the introduction of partial bottle-feeding will reduce the supply of breast milk. Parents should consider the social and financial implications of the use of infant formula. As babies grow at different rates, healthcare professionals should advise on the appropriate time for a baby to begin eating complementary foods. Infant formula and complementary foods should always be prepared, used and stored as instructed on the label in order to avoid risks to a baby’s health.
